"I had a lovely half-beagle, half-doberman dog named Star. She was my shadow, my responsibility, my warming blanket...and she was the only one in my life who just loved me. Not loved me one day and not the next, nor if she hadn't had six beers or some "mother's little helpers". She just loved me for whom I was. No prerequisites, no minimum GPA. I didn't have to have done my chores correctly, nor keep my room perfectly clean. She didn't need me to say "sir" at certain times, nor keep my voice low when she had a headache.
She just loved me, every day of her life.
I still miss her."
